The Gift God Gave Us Don't Let It Go To Waste

Hello, friends and family!

First, I want to sincerely thank you for visiting our website. If you have already joined us for a service, we are so grateful that you chose to worship with us and experience an opportunity to encounter God.

My name is Marlita. I am originally from California and moved to Georgia in 2018. Here is a little about me: I have dyslexia, a learning disability, but it has never stopped my ministry from reaching people around the world. I currently hold three degrees—two associate degrees in Computer Technology and Computer Science, along with a bachelor’s degree in Theology and Religion. While pastoring, I will also be pursuing my fourth degree, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.).

I am the proud mother of six children: three boys and three girls. I enjoy having fun with my family, whether that means playing video games with my three youngest children, enjoying pizza and movie nights, or simply relaxing together. It took me 47 years to fully submit to my calling, and I share more of that journey on the podcast if you would like to listen. I have also started writing a book, which I hope to complete by the time we officially open the doors of the church.

I love storm chasing because it is both exciting and challenging. In the same way, I love being challenged by the Word of God and hearing how others understand Scripture. I believe we can have fun, be saved, and keep Jesus at the center of our daily lives without the judgment of this world.

I believe in honesty, transparency, and truth. There is so much happening in our lives, and sometimes we may wonder who we can turn to or who we can reach in our midnight hour. One day, I made a vow to God. I told Him that if I accepted this next walk with Him, there were a few things I hoped to carry into ministry:

1) I do not want to be a preacher who is serious all the time. I want to have a sense of humor while still honoring the seriousness and power of God’s Word.

2) I do not want to hide from God’s people. Too many well-known preachers hide behind the pulpit while preaching powerfully, yet never allow people to see their humanity or emotions. I want my congregation to understand that I may go through some of the same things you experience throughout the day, week, or year. I want to be able to sit and listen, praying silently as you share your heart. We will have an open altar where you can come and pray privately, as well as during altar call.

3) I want to bring back tarrying services with the church mothers and give God’s people opportunities to use their God-given gifts.

There is so much more I would love to share about myself, but it could take another year to tell it all! If you have made it this far, just think about how far God can take you in the next chapter of your life.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me and get to know me a little better. The best is yet to come! I cannot wait to meet you officially when the doors of our church open. Until then, please remember that we have live and pre-recorded podcasts available. Join us there, and until next time, keep on keeping on.
